The Music in Mike Pugh

Mike has been a musician all of his life. He is the oldest son of a retired Methodist preacher, and was brought up with a great appreciation of all styles of music. His grandmother taught him to play the guitar, his mom made sure he had piano lessons, and he played drums in the school band into high school. Like so many others of his generation, he discovered music when The Beatles came to America, and has been hooked on music since the early 60's. He started supporting himself with his music in 1973, and has continued to work in the music business ever since.

Over the years, he played in a lot of bands, some successful, and some that really stunk. But he has kept the music alive through almost 30 years of playing professionally. Mike's professional credits include working with such musical greats as B.B. King, The Shirells, The Drifters, Percy Sledge, The Commodores, Steppenwolfe, Paul Revere & The Raiders and many more. Most recently, Mike accompanied Kentucky's Lt. Governor's wife, and former Miss America, Heather Renee' French in her performance at the Miss Maysville, Ky pagent 2002.
